Meaning behind your Name and #: I had the hardest time trying to come up with a punny derby name, so I asked Half Pint for help. I love horror movies so she came up with Count Smackula.. and my number well, I’m a huge fan of the band The misfits so naturally I chose the number 138.
How long have you been playing roller derby? I’ve been playing derby since The summer of 2018.
What position do you take? I usually prefer B1 or B3. But recently at practice I’ve been trying out Jamming. We’ll see how that goes..
What do you do for a living? I work in a dusty old warehouse and I also work at 808 skate shop.
Do you have kids or fur babies? I have neither
Why Roller Derby? I owe it all to Corri or Slay D Bug. She got me to come to a practice and the rest is history. Roller derby has given me strength, confidence and an extended family of a merry band of misfits. I wouldn’t trade that, the bumps and the bruises for the world.
Whats your favorite Junk food: my favorite junk food has definitely got to be pizza with extra cheese.
What do you like to do outside of derby? I enjoy reading, hiking, drawing, going to concerts, spending time with my boyfriend, family and friends.
Something we can expect to hear you say on bout day: I don’t say much but I do fall a lot hahah
What advice you would give to new skaters? Roller Derby is a tough sport but very rewarding. You may find yourself to be intimated by other skaters and doubting your abilities when you first start. But with practice and commitment you’ll get to where you need to be- with your teammates rooting you on every step of the way!
